Christian Singer and Award-winning super gifted live performer and songwriter Sandra Nakitto also professionally known as Sandra Suubi who carries mastery and adroitness in both visual and performing arts, over the weekend released visuals of her new dance single “My Daawa” where she fuses House and Ugandan folk.
Being Ugandan means quite a lot, and Suubi through “My Daawa” pours it all out in the lyrics, quality of production and message. This song is a very serene and tantalizing celebration song about how beautiful Uganda or the pearl of Africa is and it reminds Ugandans of the many opportunities that exist for all in the country. In March 2021, Sandra Suubi released her maiden album, ‘’Anthems of Praise.’’ The album comprising of seven songs was produced by a team of four unique creative. It also features a collaboration between Sandra and Florocka, a renowned gospel artiste from Nigeria. Sandra Suubi has several award nominations and has established herself in the fusion of afro soul, afro-pop and afro –zouk through her music. In 2015, she won the Airtel Trace Music competition –
Uganda chapter, and went on to release her EP titled Anthems of Life in 2018.
Sandra Suubi uses her voice as an instrument to study and explore how the themes of love, faith, hope and identity translate in her own personal experience as well as her local context in Uganda.
