multinational cable news channel (CNN) has named Uganda as one of the top global tourist destinations to visit this year.
Uganda was listed in CNN travel article tilted, “Where to travel in 2023: The best destinations to visit”
It states that that ever since the government dropped the pandemic travel restrictions, Uganda’s travel offerings have experienced a considerable change as the sector now looks beyond the traditional staples and wildlife to appeal to both regional and international visitors
The story highlights the big five beasts at Bwindi Impenetrable forest, expansive shores of Lake Victoria, the Snowy Rwenzori mountains among other opportunities for a lifetime adventure in the pearl of Africa.
“Uganda is a beautiful wilderness playground, with opportunities for adventure including treks through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or up to the craters of the Virunga volcano chain or white water rafting along the Victoria Nile,” CNN states
The story also speaks about the hospitality of Ugandans and the richness of their diverse culture.
“There’s also an emphasis on connecting visitors with Ugandan communities — promising tastes of Ugandan food, music and culture. Last year saw the launch of the Uganda Cycling Trail, a 1,600-kilometer mainly unpaved 22-stage route designed to appeal to all levels of cyclist from hardcore solo bike packers to fully-guided,” CNN states.
Other East African countries listed on the CNN story are Rwanda and Tanzania.
