Supermodels Aamito Lagum and Patricia Akello are to host the inaugural abryanz style and fashion awards (ASFAS) pre-party.
Slated for December 15, at Kampala Serena hotel, the glamorous party will be an invite-only and is expected to be graced by high profile people in the celebrity world.
Speaking about the event, Patricia revealed that the event is to help them strengthen the impact and also bridge the gap between the local fashion and entertainment industry with the global market. “That’s why we collaborated with the ASFAS on the event,” she said
The two models have had such a stellar year with Aamito landing a role on the big screen, playing alongside industry stalwarts Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton in the fantasy romantic drama film Three Thousand Years of Longing while Akello landed new talent representation in Turkey and Spain and also launching her swimwear brand called Pakello.
Aamito on the other hand revealed that the event is a priceless opportunity to celebrate life’s special moments with family. She explains that they had organized the event in 2021 but the COVID-19 impacts did not let them.
“For me, Uganda is family! Uganda is home! The pandemic did a good job of reminding all of us of what really matters. With this event, we get to sit down, talk, share, and inspire each other, but also plan for the next chapter now that we can move about again,” she said.
