MTN Uganda, together with the Entebbe Club, concluded the MTN Monthly Tees golf tournament today. This mid- season special version is called the MTN Tee of Tees. Under the captivating theme “It’s Par-tee Time,” the MTN Tee of Tees came alive with a spectacular celebration of golf, music, and camaraderie.
The event brought together over 180 passionate golfers who showcased their skills as they compete for the prestigious MTN Grand Tee of Tees title, due in December. The eventual winners will be drawn from the aggregated scores over the course of
the year in the monthly tee tournaments hosted at Entebbe club, and sponsored by MTN and partners.
Players in the MTN Tee of Tees had the exciting opportunity to compete for trophies and a variety of fantastic prizes from MTN and partners Huawei including Huawei smart monitors, tablets, smartphones, smartwatches, and MTN WakaNet routers,
fully bundled with MTN data. Winners in the hilariously entertaining Entebbe Ewooma choir challenge also received a special reward of 22GB of data, for each member in the winning team.
Despite an earlier drizzle, the atmosphere was exhilarating, with participants demonstrating their love for the game. Adding to the excitement, the event featured captivating live performances from the talented Shaka and the Roots band, who took
the stage and delivered a memorable musical experience. And to add spice to the exciting evening, was the Entebbe Ewooma Choir challenge, which involved members forming teams to compete and entertain. It did not disappoint.
Jacob Byamukama, Chairman of the Entebbe Club, expressed his gratitude to MTN Uganda for their continuous support and the repair works undertaken at the club. He stated, “We are immensely grateful to MTN Uganda for their unwavering
commitment and support in developing the sport of golf. The MTN Monthly Tee sponsorship has brought immense joy to our club members and the wider golfing community. We sincerely appreciate the significant repairs and improvements that are being made to our club facilities, ensuring a world-class experience for our members and visitors.”
Michael Kawesa-Sekadde, the MTN Uganda General Manager of Human Resources making a speech on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Uganda, expressed his delight and appreciation for the continuing success of the partnership with Entebbe Club. He thanked the Entebbe Club and participants for their enthusiastic participation, saying, “We have had a brilliant time playing today.
We gather to celebrate the spirit of camaraderie that is so alive among the members of this club. Indeed Entebbe Ewooma – which literally means Entebbe (which also means Chair), is sweet”. He added, “I congratulate you all on building something so special here. Congratulations to the members and management of this club. I assure you that MTN Uganda are partners you can rely on and call on you too, to support MTN achieve our objective of leading in the development of digital solutions for Uganda’s progress – I believe that together, we’re unstoppable”.
The resounding success of the MTN Tee of Tees event reaffirms the shared commitment of MTN Uganda and the Entebbe Club to promote the sport of golf and create unforgettable experiences for golf enthusiasts in Uganda. The event served as a testament to the power of collaboration and the spirit of unity among stakeholders, underscoring the message that together, great achievements are possible.
