The race for Uganda Musicians Association’s leadership continues to take lead amongst the entertainment news in the land everyday that passes ever since the association announced its election nominations at the National Theatre last week.
With the main focus being on the Presidency seat where the immediate former president Cindy Sanyu and King Saha have already shown interest, many artists have already taken sides on where they fall in terms of their support. While at it, there are some others that are choosing none of the above and one of them is self proclaimed Big Size singer Bebe cool who trashed both Cindy and Saha down the bin!
In his rant expressed via popular gossip TV Show Uncut, the Gagamel crew boss alleges that Cindy is unfit for the position because her tenure as UMA President, she failed to take criticism aswell as registering a failure in uniting musicians because she lacks checks and balances. He adds that Cindy would have been a mother to all of them as musicians but it was war with whoever she disagreed with.
On the other hand, Bebe Cool threw King Saha under the bus by regarding his image not befitting an UMA President. Bebe Cool questioned how a man that openly admits to smoking weed on National Television can lead an association of artists. Bebe Cool has had a long personal run in with King Saha and hopefully this is not another war of a battle awakened.
On why he cant come to contest for UMA presidency, Bebe Cool says that he is way above UMA. He believes he belongs to higher positions in institutions that take over the entire Arts, Culture and Creative sector because his long stay and experience in the industry enables him to discuss issues of an entire sector and not only musicians.
However, Bebecool clarifies that if the only candidates for UMA Presidency are King Saha and Cindy, then the only option for him would be Cindy.
