Eddy Kenzo Gives Details On How Musicians Can Access UNMF Funds

In a recent interview with NTV Uganda on the NTV The Beat, Eddy Kenzo, the Uganda National Musicians Federation  ( UNMF) President, took a moment to clarify the current nature of his relationship with media Personality and events emcee Edwin Katamba alias MC Kats.

This comes a few weeks after MC Kats via his X account expressed his dismay with the UNMF president for allegedly refusing to extend financial support towards organizing Fille’s forthcoming Concert as the latter redirected him to his manager Beta.

Contary to the recent revelations, Kenzo emphasized that he harbours no ill feelings towards MC Kats and that they are still friends.

He stated that MC Kats requests were beyond his powers and he could only try to influence the people in the responsible positions to help and attend to his issues.

“MC Kats is my friend, my brother, he knows. The only problem he has with me is that I refused to attend to his issues directly and I deflected him to Beta (Martin) but what he needed was beyond my power. There was nothing I could do,” Kenzo said.

“I am not in that secretariat, am not even in the loans committee. I can solve Kats’ problem even now as long as it’s not about that. I can only influence to have him assisted and I was trying to do that until I saw him run to the media,” he added.

Kenzo further re-echoed the need to be professional and how particular procedures at the federation must be adhered to regardless of someone’s position.

“As the president of the music federation, I must clarify that the Sacco has financial managers and personnel dedicated to handling those matters. We are committed to professionalism and adhere to the necessary procedures for accessing funds from Sacco” – Eddy Kenzo noted.
