Eddy Kenzo On Spot Over Royalty Dispute Of A Song “Chill”

Cameroonian artist Gasha, also known as Gah-Ndo Ashuembom Amabo, has publicly called out Eddy Kenzo, urging him to address allegations of withholding royalties from their joint music project titled “Chill.”

The 33-year-old singer alleges that despite investing over USD 2,000 in the production, video, and promotion of the project back in 2015, she has not received her rightful share of royalties from its success. The song, uploaded on Kenzo’s YouTube channel for its wider audience reach, has accumulated 5.1 million views over the past nine years.

Gasha asserts that Kenzo has purportedly claimed sole ownership of the project, uploading it on various music streaming platforms and incorporating it into one of his albums without her consent.

Taking responsibility for not formalizing payment arrangements with Kenzo, Gasha advises fellow artists to ensure proper documentation in such collaborations. Despite the absence of a written agreement, Gasha emphasizes that verbal agreements have been successful in her career with other collaborators.

Expressing disappointment over the situation, Gasha demands transparency and accountability from Kenzo, urging him to rectify the issue by relinquishing control of the project and providing her with her due share of royalties.

In response to Kenzo’s management’s dismissal of her claims, Gasha maintains her stance, inviting Kenzo to challenge her assertions if he believes she is misrepresenting the facts.
