Police has arrested a one Kafta Queen, 18 as prime suspect in connection to the viral video where a girl is seen being tortured. According to police, she invited the victim to attend her birthday celebrations, only to start beating her up.
Pretty Nicole, the girl who appeared in the viral video on social media being beaten over a man had told police that she is to blame for everything that happened to her.
In the video, three girls beat up Nicole as a boy watches and cheers on. They were punishing her for falling in love with the boyfriend of one of their colleagues.
Police has been investigating the matter since yesterday and had earlier today approached the victim to see how her tormentors could be brought to justice.
According to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, Nicole has refused to comply with the police after they got in touch with the victim in a bid to ensure she records a statement and provide more evidence to pin the suspect. She blamed herself for the shame and beating she went through yesterday.
“She has refused to cooperate with the Police to help identify the suspects but is instead blaming herself for whatever happened and feels she deserved the beating,” he said.
In a bid to continue helping her to heal, police has provided her shelter and agreed with her mother for to her sleep at the police station as she gets professional help.
