Ham Kiggundu has announced a stellar lineup of performers and activities for the grand opening of Nakivubo Stadium.

Rema Namakula, among others, will perform at the event on June 1, which will be graced by notable acts such as Eddy Kenzo, Jose Chameleone, Pia Pounds, Sheebah Karungi, and Bebe Cool. Comedians Madrat and Chicko will also be part of the entertainment lineup.

The grand opening will include a variety of test matches in football, basketball, boxing, and kickboxing, as well as a fireworks display. Football matches will feature URA FC vs. Kitara FC and Express FC vs. SC Villa. Kickboxing fans can look forward to Umaru Semata facing Moses Golola, while basketball enthusiasts will see KIU Titans play JT Jaguars and Nam Blazers take on UCU Canons.

The multi-purpose arena, boasting a state-of-the-art design, is a result of the innovation and investment by Ham Kiggundu. During the stadium’s commissioning event on April 25, President Yoweri Museveni praised Kiggundu for his forward-thinking approach.

“Kiggundu is a young man who emerged as the NRM came to power, and he truly embodies the NRM spirit through his innovation and drive for prosperity in Uganda,” Museveni said, acknowledging Kiggundu’s role in revitalizing the stadium.

Museveni lauded Kiggundu’s ‘can-do’ attitude, stating, “I thank Kiggundu because he has shown that ‘yes we can’ attitude not only here but in other projects as well. He came up with a solid plan, and being a bush warfighter, I got it right away. We don’t waste time; a slow decision can be fatal.”

Nakivubo Stadium, also known as Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds, is set to become a landmark venue, thanks to Kiggundu’s vision and dedication.
