Last year, the government announced its commitment to supporting the music/creative industry with a fund of Uganda Shillings 13 billion. The first bunch of 5 billion according to State Minister for Micro Finance Hon. Haruna Kasolo has been sent to capitalize the UNMF Sacco.

Notably, King Michael is now urging the UNMF to direct financial support towards emerging musicians nationwide. In his perspective, he suggests that the allocated funds should be provided as loans to upcoming musicians, rather than established artists who may already possess significant resources.

In an interview with a local television station, King Michael articulated his appeal, stating, “I appeal to whoever has that money to give it to the upcoming singers because they need it more than us, the established ones. They need that money to build their careers so they can reach our level.”

King Michael’s plea underscores a call for equitable distribution of financial support, emphasizing the importance of nurturing the next generation of talent within the music industry.
