On Sunday the 7th AEAUSA were held in New Jersey that saw Uganda’s talented diva Spice Diana bagging an award for Best Female Artist- East/ South/ North Africa and also Big Talent CEO Eddy Kenzo winning Best Male Artist- East/South/North Africa.
The night was filled with the celebration of African music from across the African Continent and the Award show was broadcasted live on AEAUSA youtube channel. Nigerian actress Nancy Isime and Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi hosted this Awards show whose nominees were announced on 1 November 2021 with Wizkid leading with eight nominations and on the night he took home 5 of them. Tems, and Diamond Platnumz with six nominations. Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, and Focalistic with five nominations.
These same awards saw a couple of Ugandans get nominated as well in different categories and these included Spice Diana, B2C Entertainment, Douglas Lwanga, Eddy Kenzo and Beenie Gunter. Spice Diana who had days ago asked Ugandan awards organizers not to nominate her in their respective awards if they feel she does not deserve to win their accolades beat Zuchu, Sherine, Zahara, Nandy, Knowless, Nadia Mukami, Tanasha Donna, Sho Madjozi, and Latifa to the accolade on Boxing Day. Meanwhile Eddy Kenzo alias Young Mandela beat competition from Rayvanny, Harmonize, Ali Kiba, Small X, Jah Prayzah, Nordo, Morci, Elgrandetoto, and Forcalistic to bag the accolade.
