Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga happy to receive His Janzi Award

Owekitiibwa Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikkiro of Buganda Kingdom has received his Janzi award in recognition for his book “Work and Prosper”. The award under the category of Outstanding Non-Fiction writer was delivered to the Katikkiro in Bulange on Tuesday morning by Owek. Nuwa Wamala Nnyanzi, the National Arts & Cultural Crafts Association of Uganda -NACCAU Vice Chairman and Board member National Culture Forum-NCF representing the Visual Arts.

The book, “Work and Prosper” is a reflection of Mayiga’s views on strategies that may be adopted to realize personal, institutional, and community growth and prosperity. Mayiga has been involved with a number of business ventures, companies and organizations and whoever is interested in training high life goals surely finds the account in this book of much interest.

To win this award, Katikkiro’s book beat Jimmy Spire Ssentongo‘s book What I saw when I died together with Joyce Mpanga‘s It’s a Pity She is Not a Boy. Unlike past times where music was the only recognized domain in the arts, Culture and creative sector, all the other domains were for the first time recognized in their totality through the Janzi Awards.
