Flex D’Paper Announces Date For His “Kampala Boy” Album Release

38

In spite of—or perhaps because of—everything, 2021 has been a year of many Ugandan hip-hop albums. Amongst all the difficulties of this year, most of us were freshly blessed with chunks of time: to sit, think, and listen. And Ugandan rappers delivered, with thematic resonance projects that soothe anger, pain, and loneliness. Some assisted us in finding joy by providing opportunities for celebration, creativity, and sensuality.

Now rapper and song writer Flex D`Paper, real name Alex Julius D’Paper over the weekend officially confirmed the release date for his eagerly anticipated studio album, KAMPALA BOY that is reckoned on to have a  variagated-sound with features from artists like A pass, Navio, Fic Fameica, Shena Skies Kemishan and international superstar Swae Lee.

Most of the songs on this project were mixed, mastered and recorded in Europe at Icon Studios and Konkrete in Uganda respectively with seasoned Producers such as Aethan Music, Mio Made, Nessim, Sam Lamara among others.

The title of this project is very fitting, as it brings a fantastic blend of alternative Hip Hop skills and themes relevant to surviving in Kampala. From the opening track to the last, this project will have you fully engaged with Flex as he digresses you into a relaxed state with his vocals and bars on each track.
