Azawi becomes 4th Ugandan to appear on the New York Times Square Billboard

Azawi is on cloud 9 after featuring on the Iconic New York Times Square Billboard. This development comes after the Swangz Avenue songstress joining the Youtube Black Voices Music class of 2022.

Azawi could not hide her excitement as she took to social media to share the good news with her fans.

The self proclaimed “Queen of Vibes” now becomes the forth Ugandan and third Artist to appear on the famous billboard after Producer HerbertSkillz, Singer turned politician Bobiwine and Singer Eddy Kenzo who has appeared there twice.

The first time Kenzo appeared on the billboard was in September 2020 while promoting the African classic song “Missounwa” which he redid with Monique Seka, the second time was in May 2021 after the release of his made in Africa album.

Sound Makers Studio producer, HerbertSkillz appeared on the prestigious Newyork billboard when he featured  on Tropical House Cruises To Jamaica, a 25-track Reggae Album where he produced after the track he produced for UK top Artist and Billboard 100 award winner Jethro “Alonestar” Sheeran who is a cousin to internationally recognized Icon Ed Sheeran, titled ” Cross Roads ” featured on the greatest  Reggae complication  and its track 16 and also track number 12 “IN MY ARMS “where he features Jethro Sheeran and Wayne Wonder.

Musician-cum-politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine became the third Ugandan to feature on the Iconic New York Times Square Billboard after he ended his inaugural season of The Messenger podcast while speaking to Sudanese-American rapper (turned podcaster) Bas. Bobi Wine featured on the billboard after he broke down what happened during Uganda’s most recent presidential election.
